The Sulzbacher Center provides meals and shelter for homeless men, women and families. They have two free health clinics and comprehensive programs for helping their clients get jobs and housing.

Situation
  • Sulzbacher staff was writing and managing the design and production of their newsletter and appeal letters. Wanting to give staff back time for other fundraising activities, Sulzbacher sought help from ISF Group.

  • A local marketing agency had recently selected Sulzbacher to receive some pro-bono services to redesign their website and provide new branding for their logo. We were asked to help redesign their donor communications to compliment the new web design.

ISF Solutions
  • We started with a make-over of the Sulzbacher newsletter. We wanted to personalize the newsletter to recipients based on whether or not they had recently attended Sulzbacher’s premier fundraising event called Transformations. We designed a newsletter shell that could be personalized for each recipient. The sample on the link to the left will show you how the front page of the newsletter varied based on whether you had supported the event or not.

We also reduced the size of their newsletter to a readable, 11x17” format and focused the content on informing readers of the successes at Sulzbacher and the growing need for their services in the community.

  • We designed an appeal letter that complimented the design of the newsletter and their website. The appeal letter mailed within 2 weeks of the newsletter which built the case for giving.

  • At Christmas, we developed a very successful fundraising program that was centered around a website called “Give a Good Night”. Donors visited the website and ordered Holiday cards that could be sent to family, friends, employees or clients. Each card represented a night of lodging for a homeless man, woman or child and was purchased in honor of someone as a gift. The cards were a hit with individuals and businesses. The Web Services link to the left will take you to a sample of the site.
